Holiday DIY: Rustic Christmas Wreath

By Hello...I Live Here on Nov 29, 2013

Easy Rustic Christmas Wreath

Happy Friday everyone! Hope your day was awesome :-) . We started decking the halls at Hello I Live Here today and we are going to show you all how we made our easy rustic Christmas wreath. I love wreaths because they give a warm welcome feel to your home. I am always excited to share our wonderful decor with the neighborhood. Once the decorations start appearing, you know that Christmas time has come!!!

We decide that our front area would be done in a minimal, rustic feel. We did not deck the halls with an overabundance of decor this year, but a tasteful rustic theme to share with our wonderful neighbors.

Easy Rustic Wreath

Our easy rustic Christmas wreath took about 30 minutes, and was made for the front of our garage. While I worked on the easy rustic Christmas wreath, my hubby helped by prepping our front porch so we could finish this display tomorrow (I can’t wait to share it with you all). :-)

This easy rustic Christmas wreath was a Red Racks thrift store find for under $15. The wonderful over-sized wreath is a simple wood branching tied together. It had old ivy on it, so I simply removed the old stuff, and made a lovely bow, adorned with beautiful ribbon from Michaels at $1.88 a roll, and Martha Stewart Ornaments purchased from The Home Depot for $39, which we purchased for our Christmas tree porch display. This whole porch display/easy wreath cost us under $60. But the best part, using all these simple, left over items from the display of the front porch, thrift store finds, and inexpensive ribbon made the easy rustic Christmas wreath come to life! :-)

Here’s how Hello I Lived Here made the easy rustic Christmas wreath:

First I added lights to the easy rustic Christmas wreath.

Then, I added beautiful rustic burlap green and tan ribbon purchased from Michael’s Craft Store, and made a lovely bow for the top center.

Next, I wired/hot glued festive rustic decorations to bring the easy rustic Christmas wreath all together.

Finally, we put the wreath into place on the garage area (soon we will light it all up!)

And that’s a wrap! See, it really was an easy rustic Christmas wreath! ;-) We hope you enjoy making an easy rustic Christmas wreath for your own home. Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow as Hello I Live Here shows you what we did with our rustic planter box we made a couple weeks ago that was featured on Bob Vila Nation. Happy Easy Rustic Christmas Wreath making everyone!

Linda :-)
