Handcrafted LEGO Chandelier Takes DIY to the Next Level
By Inthralld on Apr 12, 2013
Lighting is a great way to add some wonderful design elements to your home without putting any more items on the floor, and creates more unification via the ceiling. Though there are all kinds of laser cut paper pendants inspired by clouds, sea creatures and more– this one has to take the cake.
A LEGO-based chandelier that isn’t just your average, primary colored, building block light fixture. Created and hand crafted by Industrial Designer Tobias Tøstesen, this new home addition has a classy edge to it, constructed with transparent LEGO pieces. It’s a floor to ceiling fixture that casts and reflects light similar to the natural Nordic sunlight (or lack of). Tobias used 8,000 clear LEGO bricks to create this Design Week masterpiece, and the outcome is absolutely astounding.
