DIY Beeswax Candles

Handmade gifts seem to be the trend this year and I decided to follow it.
I love the look of the diamond cutouts with the wax, but any glass jar will do. Hit up your local thrift store and see what you can find.
1. Get your supply of beeswax. The wax can be pricey, but I know a bee farmer in the small town where I grew up. He only charged $12 per a 2 lb block. This was a lot less than most prices I had seen online and was very happy I shopped around. It took only two of the blocks-4 lbs- to fill ten of my half-pint jars.
2. Melt wax. I used a candle thermometer, and it seemed to finally all melt around 180˚ F.
3. Create a base to hold your wick centered. Wrap wick around a skewer and set in place. Pour a small amount of wax into jar using a container that has a spout.
4. Once base has hardened, fill up jar with remaining wax.
Add a holiday tag with some yarn and your gift is done.
My house smelled lovely from the melted wax, and I can't wait for others to enjoy the aroma.
