NYC Water Tank Transformed by Messana O'Rorke

By Inthralld on Oct 10, 2012

New York might be known more for it’s massive high rise buildings and historic buildings of large proportions– but there are a ton of little gems that tend to go unnoticed, all still with a large price tag of course. The hip Greenwich neighborhood is home to Messana O’Rorke‘s interesting 12th Street project.

An old water tank that was repurposed by Messana and her team now houses two bedrooms and a gorgeous rooftop garden space. The interior is tight and concise in its planning, with a Jack-and-Jill bathroom to maximize plumbing space and moderately sizable bedrooms. A spiral staircase leads its inhabitants up to the outside where the family can sit together and enjoy the New York skies.
