Good to Know: Storage Ottomans

Storage is no longer limited to closets and steel filing cabinets. Designers have teamed up to invent creative storage solutions that look great while remaining functional.
Storage ottomans would be the single storage solution I would be lost without, mainly because they help conceal all those toys that are spread throughout my house!
Storage ottomans come in all sorts of sizes, shapes, and colors too. A large ottoman can replace the traditional cocktail table for you to kick up your feet, or a narrow rectangular ottoman works great as a bench at the foot of your bed. Use them to store extra blankets, photographs, toys or hobby supplies.
I started the project below with a pre-arranged marriage between “Pine Bark” brown and “Celery Root” green, defined by Lowes Creative Ideas For Color paint palette. Once on the big wall, the green was a little too minty for my taste. I didn’t want to hire my painting crew to come back, so I took one for the team and went shopping.
I was in search for just the right art and accessories that would tone it down and tie the room together. It took a while, but I found the perfect pair of abstract floral prints in black frames to complement the black, distressed built-in wet bar.
From here I knew my new accent color for this room was going to be... wait for it... ORANGE! Off to Home Goods I went to find toss pillows. After visiting Home Goods a few more times (I go there weekly) I stumbled upon these fantastic storage ottomans with an orange leaf print. They turned out to work perfectly as a LEGO® storage center for the little boy living in this house!
Where’s the best place to find these ottomans, you ask? As I mentioned I found these at Home Goods, but other great retail stores stocking them include Kirkland’s in Birkdale Village, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Target. Remember, organization is a great thing!
